It's been a very busy Summer for Joe between producing projects at Grouse Lodge, The Living Room and Westland, continuing writing for a new solo record and performing at festivals in Scandinavia, the U.K. and Ireland with The Waterboys. Here is an incendiary performance of "We Will Not Be Lovers" from Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival.
October 17th sees the release of the fourth album from a lazarus soul. Entitled "Last Of The Analogue Age", it was produced by Joe using analogue tape at The Living Room and basic tracks were recorded in the assembly hall of Patrician College, Finglas which closed its doors for good this summer. It's already picking up rave reviews with 4 stars in The Irish Times, album of the week on Newstalk 106FM and Dan Hegarty (2FM), Tom Dunne (Newstalk) saying some very nice things about it too. Released on October 24th is a new version of Tupelo's "Yesterday's News" featuring beautiful new vocals and strings by Eleanor McEvoy, which Joe recorded at Westland Studios, Dublin. You can preorder it from iTunes here.
And finally, the long-awaited new album from The Hedge Schools, has just been mastered by Joe and is slated for a November 28th release. Along with Pat Barrett it features musical contributions from Kevin Murphy (Seti The First/Interference) on cello, Donagh Molloy (Lisa Hannigan) on trumpet as well as Joe on guitars and piano and was recorded in 2013 at The Living Room.
